Walt Disney Television Vice President, Branding and Design - ABC Entertainment in Los Angeles, California

We are seeking a creative, talented and experienced leader to oversee the ABC Entertainment Marketing design team. The role is unique, as will be the right candidate. Reporting into the SVP of Creative, the position will be responsible for oversight over the on and off-air design team along with the ABC brand and identity. The candidate must have excellent design and creative skills. He/she must thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume environment and be able to lead, inspire and motivate a creative team with a management style that embraces innovation, teamwork, collaboration and mentorship.

Responsibilities :

  • Oversee all design for ABC Entertainment, both motion and still, for multiple platforms including but not limited to on-air, OOH, print and digital from concept to completion.

  • Manage and evolve the creative style guide to maintain the integrity of the ABC brand and ensure the highest quality standards, policies and procedures internally and across all media platforms.

  • Empower, motivate and manage a high-performing creative team of 20+ including, art directors, designers, producers and flame artists. Be a creative visionary with the ability to inspire new thinking and energize team to think beyond tradition and create break-out, eye-catching design.

  • Oversee relationships with key network and show executives, talent, outside creative agencies, vendors and photographers.

  • Collaborate with the internal on-air creative and digital/social teams on artwork to ensure design assets are optimized for their needs.

  • Direct the operations of an in-house design team that is responsible for building a diverse range of creative assets (on-air graphics, ads, evites, event signage, EST/SVOD graphics, premium graphics, synergy OOH placements) for internal departments including the Affiliate Marketing, Affiliates Sales & Marketing, Publicity, Franchise Management, Digital Sales and Events teams

  • Monitor creative budgets and sign off all on vendor invoices

  • Supervise the organization and distribution of all show and network creative assets with internal and external partners

Basic Qualifications :

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in the entertainment Industry, advertising agency or related industry.

  • Minimum 5 years in a management role

  • Print production experience and knowledge of 4 color process

  • Strong MAC computer skills, including thorough understanding of Adobe Creative Suite (After Effects, Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign and Premiere Pro)

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Great presentation skills

  • Strong decision making skills

  • Original thinker with strong design sense

  • Possess a sharp eye and pay close attention to detail

  • Must be able to multi-task, delegate and prioritize work in a fast-paced, high volume work environment.

  • Graceful under pressure

  • Must have passion for television and the entertainment industry

  • Positive, collaborative, can-do attitude and approach to working with others

Preferred Qualifications:

  • PowerPoint, Apple Keynote and Cinema 4D experience strongly preferred

Required Education :

  • BA/BS degree; Degree in Graphic Design or Marketing preferable or comparable portfolio and experience.
