Walt Disney Television Executive Director - Digital Research (OTV) in Glendale, California
The Executive Director, Digital Research for the ABC Owned Television Station group will manage a central team providing a suite of research, analytics, insights and recommendations for all division and station-level teams, including content, product, sales and newsroom stakeholders.
This executive will be at the center of ABC OTV’s future success, with a full understanding of OTV’s multiplatform audience, driving content, revenue and product optimization. They will work directly with the senior executive stakeholders of ABC OTV and other businesses within Walt Disney Television and TWDC to drive collective growth, providing strategic guidance and actionable insights across all areas of our business.
Champion data and analytics with a central source of truth that drives multi-platform content, product and platform optimization as well as accountability across the organization
Direct and manage team of analysts and researchers across digital analytics, consumer insights, marketing research, television research and sales performance
Identify effective and efficient approaches to operations and processes throughout the organization
Manage relationships with key measurement vendors
Recruit, develop, and retain a strong leadership team; provide guidance and coaching to maximize their performance and accelerate their professional growth.
Execute all corporate policies/objectives while maintaining the highest level of ethics and industry standards.
Establish and maintain an atmosphere that promotes open communication, respect for others and excellence
Collaborate with other parts of ABC OTV, Walt Disney Television and The Walt Disney Company to advance the group’s interests and leverage the group’s assets
Basic Qualifications :
7+ years in research, data & analytics, insights & strategy work, with part of that time leading & managing a team, and a research vendor, media publisher, client or agency partner
Extensive television and/or digital media research experience, including significant exposure to content, product and ad sales research.
Knowledge of Nielsen & comScore Linear and Digital syndicated product offerings and a sophisticated understanding of the challenges facing comprehensive audience measurement.
Deep understanding of the digital media ecosystem, particularly with research expertise in digital content consumption, video, OTT, and social environments
Excellent visualization and storytelling skills to be able to effectively communicate data insights in easy to understand and actionable manner
Strategic thinker with ability to formulate innovative solutions to complex problems and keep ahead of industry trends.
Demonstrated ability to develop high performing teams whose expertise spurs innovation and delivers actionable business insights.
Established relationships across the research and analytics industry, including vendors
A leadership approach that fosters collaboration and innovation
Ability to recognize, create and communicate priorities, strategies as well as market opportunities and challenges to drive growth and performance improvement
Ability to effectively lead and manage in a dynamic and challenging environment
Strong written, verbal and presentation skills.
- Experience with, or deep knowledge of, local broadcast station research and the trends, technology, etc. shaping the station industry’s future (ATSC 3.0, etc.).
Required Education :
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
